When I first met Jess and Jared at a Yarck cafe they were undecided as to exactly where their ceremony would take place but it was definitely going to be connected with the outdoors. Avid lovers of nature and the Australian landscape they eventually chose the banks of the Goulburn River at Snobs Creek Winery. 

It was also apparent that their wedding would be relaxed and full of laughter. 

Jess got ready at Holmesglen at Eildon with her bridesmaids Lauren and Lauren. More accustomed to work boots and casual attire Jess looked absolutely stunning in her champagne coloured lace gown with flowers by Nici Thompson. 

The banks of the swollen Goulburn River at Snobs Creek Winery made an idyllic setting for the ceremony. Despite a few deeps breaths to calm the nerves and an emotional Jared as he saw his bride for the first time - they couple were true to their word with smiles and laughing throughout the ceremony.  The ceremony was conducted by local celebrant Mary Ann Egan.

The ceremony was witnessed by family and friends - many who had travelled from Queensland for the occasion.

A couple of weeks prior to their wedding day Jess took me on a drive up to the Royston Trestle Bridge. Whenever Jess spoke about the bridge she lit up and was clearly excited about the prospect of having her photos there. With limited time between the ceremony and reception we discussed the viability of spending almost one hour in the car for the return trip. 

When we arrived I watched Jess walk out to the middle of the bridge, look up, close her eyes and take a deep breath in before declaring "this is my favourite place in the whole world." And with that I knew that regardless of the travel time there was no other place for Jess and Jareds photos.

The area is open to the public during the summer months but closed at other times of the year. Despite being a day shy of opening season we were given access to photograph for the day. The absence of people made the location even more special. With towering trees all around and an impressive structure Jess and Jared were able to enjoy the environment and have a few moments to themselves as husband and wife.

With limited time before being due back at the reception we stopped in at a local camp site for a few photos along the river with one of the campers declaring "well you don't see that every day!" - clearly surprised to see a bride and groom in such a remote location.
