Engagement Photo Session - Moyhu

When we put out a call asking for newly engaged couples to take us to their favourite place for engagement photos we were hoping for a variety of locations.  As newcomers to the Mansfield and Victorian High Country region it was an opportunity to get our name out there as a wedding and portrait photographer, to get to know some locals and to discover some of the amazing locations and scenery the region has to offer.

We had some wonderful responses resulting in us photographing couples in some popular public locations including The Gorge and Woolshed Falls in Beechworth, and the Bendigo Rose Garden.  We were also contacted by Georgia and Mick who said they'd like to have their photos on a 1,000 acre property outside of Moyhu.

Not sure even where Moyhu was, Georgia provided directions to the property and without mobile phone coverage I was met by Mick and the gate and guided into the farmhouse where I was greeted by their friendly puppy. 

With 1,000 acres to play with Mick suggested we head to one of his favourite spots on the property.  We squeezed into the cabin of his 4WD, camera bag in the cage of the tray and headed up and down valleys until we came to a peak that overlooked part of the property.  It wasn't long before I spotted some local wildlife. 

With nothing surrounding us but the rolling hills, open skies and wildlife it's not hard to see why this is such a special place for Mick and Georgia.

On the way back to the farmhouse we stopped on a track and then took a few photos from the other side of the hill.

After overcast conditions for most of the session we found this glorious patch of light just next to the farmhouse.

Thank you Mick and Georgia for allowing me to visit such a special place.  It was wonderful to spend some time getting to know you both and I loved the cross country trek to reach our destination.  Thank you also for your hospitality - you made me feel so very welcome and the eggs you gave me were enjoyed by my family and one even had a double yolk!!  Haven't seen one of them since I was a child.
