A wedding reception for family and friends at Fenix Events in Melbourne capped off a series of celebrations across the globe for Odell and Devi that began with a traditional three day celebration and wedding ceremony in India, followed by a wedding reception in Dubai.   In keeping with the final event being held in Australia, the venue was decorated with native foliage on the pillars and for the centrepieces. This theme, that included the use of gum leaves, banksias, kangaroo paw and gum nuts, followed through to the bridal bouquet, cake, place cards and welcoming signage.

Fenix is located on the banks of the Yarra River in Victoria Street, Richmond, and boasts a tree canopy view from both upper and lower reception rooms.  The expansive private decks create a wonderful indoor/outdoor environment for guests to enjoy.

Odell and Devi wanted to spend as much time as possible with family and friends so we whisked the couple away for just a few minutes for photos. 

Often at weddings those family/friends tasked with giving speeches can feel overwhelmed and are unfamiliar with the role but not so at Odell and Devi's wedding.  Odell's friends clearly enjoyed the occasion, were articulate and had the audience in the palm of their hands while recounting some of their antics and experiences.  Similarly, Chantelle, Odell's cousin, responsible for putting the entire day together was equally comfortable in front of the microphone.  Not to be outdone, Odell's description of the circumstances leading up to his union with Devi was captivating and one that reminds us there is no 'right' way to find love.

Formalities aside it was time for Odell's friends to to pay tribute to his heritage and break out into their 'Bollywood' style dance that was first performed at the Indian reception.
